Early in 2016, award-winning painter Robert G. Hager was chosen in the Juried show to be among the short list of artists selected to show their works at multiple locations of Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Centers as part of the treatment facility's 15th Annual Illuminations Art Show. As a further fait accompli, one of Hager's pieces titled The Cape and my Chevy was selected as the centerpiece for the event's poster and other public relations venues. Illuminations is a rotating art exhibit housed in the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Centers, designed to enhance the environment of care and reflect the diversity of the communities it serves.
By invitation, he gave a talk during an opening reception about his love for The Cape and his ongoing desire to share its beauty through artistic interpretations. "I maintain two art studios, one here in Truro,MA and the other in New Jersey," said Hager. Robert Hager attended The School of Visual Arts and The New York School of Graphic Arts in New York City as well as Bergen Community College and Design On Disk in Northern New Jersey.
Now in its 15th year, Illuminations runs from March 8th through July 28th, 2016. Critically acclaimed works of numerous regional and national artists are on display in the Mass General Cancer Center's public spaces.
